What are your Rights during Bankruptcy?

If you are completely broke and are planning to file bankruptcy, it is a good idea to know what your rights are once you are bankrupt. Here are a few points that are worth your consideration with respect to bankruptcy:
The Initial Stage Post Filing Bankruptcy
The very first thing to consider is that the fist year of bankruptcy may be the most difficult phase for you. Not only will the effect of a bad credit report be the most felt during this year, but there will be a number of negotiations and unpleasant scenarios that you may need to go through.
However with time, things will start getting better if you are planning on a serious start afresh and get things on the roll. Even though the negative reports will stay on your credit history for 10 years, things will soon ease out for you.
Credit Cards and Banking
With a poor credit report, your credit options will go down as well. Not only will you see lower credit limits for your credit cards, but you will also get to see tighter conditions for you while applying for a new credit card or financial help. You would probably have to apply for secured credit cards – and therefore will need to make a deposit against the cards that you apply.
This, however, will prove to be beneficial for your credit history as time passes.
Loans
You will probably not be able to apply for loans and mortgages for the first couple of years. This is why the initial couple of years need you to live with proper restraint on your expenses.
You should understand all the above issues before applying for bankruptcy in order to be prepared for the future consequences.
